Partners and Friends,
I know it has been a while since our last newsletter—five months, to be exact—but not without good reason. era//404 has had an incredible six months with wonderful opportunities and long days. And now, as the weather has stayed unseasonably warm, we're attempting to enjoy a second chance at summer.
The growth and success of many of our long-term relationships has enabled us to grow this quarter as well. And while we've been doing our small part to help you in your accomplishments, we've taken a step back to consider how important your trust in our work has been. We hope that over the years you've continued to return to era//404 for your design, development and marketing needs—and have felt confident in referring others to us—because you have found satisfaction in the work we've provided. And while our mission is to do just that, the entire team thanks you for trusting in us.
This quarter, we've had the opportunity to work with some amazing people and produce outstanding work together. Thank you for your continued interest and proud to share with you our accomplishments.
Sincerely,
era//404
PS. Apologies for the redesign. Much to our chagrin, Microsoft has decided to change the rules on html-formatted emails again and while our original design would work fine in older versions of Outlook, it was entirely illegible in Outlook 2007. If you still can't make heads or tails of this, try the online version, which uses Internet Explorer's rendering engine or request this newsletter resent as Text-Only. Incidentally, here's a handy widget for testing how the new rendering engine destroys code in Adobe Dreamweaver. Previous newsletters can be found at: http://www.era404.com/newsletter/.

404 Trivia
Section 404 of the federal Clean Water Act prohibits the discharge of dredged or fill material in wetland areas whenever there is a 'practicable alternative' that would have less of an impact on the aquatic ecosystem. This will prevent future generations from not finding wetlands.
404 is the area code in North Georgia. When a call to Atlanta is incorrectly entered, the operator returns a 404 error.

Best Practices to Keep your Inbox, Voicemail and Mailbox Free of Solicitations
A few years back, era//404 was written up in The Wall Street Journal's online site, WSJ.com, for an experiment we ran concerning unsolicited email. The experiment was to test if those "Unsubscribe" links actually work. Upon creating a dozen brand new email accounts, we subscribed each to a dozen different online newsletters, contests, subscription services and mailing lists. Then, upon receiving the initial emails from those services, we clicked the "Unsubscribe" link...
